The Madras High court has requested for a relaxation of 5% for SCST & physically disabled candidates in the entrance exam TET for teachers conducted in different States for the teacher’s selection to work in the Government schools. Madras High court’s petition pertains only to the state of Tamil Nadu.
This request was brought to the State Government regard and a bench of Chief Justice Eqbal and Justice Sivagnanam, issued the notice and said the selection of candidates to the posts would be subject to the outcome of the PIL (Public Interest Litigation), after advocate Palanimuthu submitted that the authorities had not released category-wise figures of successful candidates.Different states have allocated several considerations for the SCST and physically disabled candidates in TET in relation to their state norms. So, the Madras High court has raised the petition as a consideration for the afore mentioned candidates as ‘Tamil Nadu state consideration’. Hope prevails that with the outcome of PIL, the consideration would be effected.
