Teachers are being appointed based on the TET test results to various Government schools. On the account of this, the BED graduate teachers were being appointed to various subjects in the sequence of Science, English, Maths, Social Studies and Tamil subject order.
An extra BED graduate teacher is being appointed for every 360 students in a school as per Government norms through TET. But the above sequential appointment order disappointed many Tamilian communities. To dispel the issue, the government hiked the appointment order of subjects to Science, Tamil, Maths, Social Studies and English. Thus Tamil subject has climbed to the second position in the appointment list.
So, about 1,550 Tamil graduate teachers have already been appointed throughout Tamil Nadu out of the 2,080 vacancies for the subject designated. This has been received as a welcome change among the Tamilian communities and Mr. Ilangovan, District Tamil Teacher’s unit director has appreciated the effort on the behalf of the government.
